PROGRAM

8:30 to 9:15 a.m.

Join us for registration with coffee from The Bent Rudder (Dukes) in Port Carling. A surprise visitor will be joining us!

9:15 a.m.

The formal program begins - participants will rotate through a series of displays and demonstrations incuding:

Varnishing

Ribbing Decking and Seams: Installing seam putty. This is one of the most common questions asked in the shop: Dukes

Engine Maintenance: How to make your Buchanan out last you! While most have done this there are always some things frequently forgotten: Parry Automotive

 

Muskoka Seaflea displays of home built seafleas, building and restoration ideas, videos and more

Matt Fairbrass will bring his "Little Box of Horrors" containing many scary things he has removed from actual boats over the years. He will also conduct a tutorial on water loops and the importance of retaining water in the engine block. This will be a hands-on display.

Get a peek inside the Archive at Muskoka Boat and Heritage Centre.  See Hawker boat drawings, photos, the wooden boat database and memorabillia belonging to ACBS Toronto, the Dispro Owners Association, and the Muskoka Steamship and Historical Society. Perhaps you will find your Grandfather's boat!

Visit the live Boat Builders' Exhibit beside the ticket office to see a canoe or skiff being rebuilt.
