Dear Sir,
A few years ago an old Italian Lady gave me as a present an old 12' class dingy sailboat that she had brought from Canada to Italy in the late 1930s. She used to travel to the US at that time quite frequently and she was a US resident. Her name was Lady Maria Cristina Sipari, she died one year ago at the age of 86.
Her father, Erminio Sipari, was a famous Engineer and the founder of the National Park of Abruzzo, the first National Park in Italy. Because of this her father was in continuous contact with the National Parks in the US.
I and a fantastic artisan, Daniele Mugnaini in Viareggio, Italy, have restored the dingy, which had its first fly in the waters of Lago di Massaciuccoli in front of Puccini's residence about two weeks ago. The name of the dingy is "Sister Nolan". I attach two photos of it: 100_0339.jpg --> Daniele Mugnaini is holding the dingy just before it enters the waters of the lake where Puccini, the famous opera writer, lived. In the background you may see the Puccini Opera theater, right on the lake shore. 100_0371.jpg --> The Dingy in is in the water with a very mild breeze.
All equipment is original, even the sail, and all have been carefully restored. Also the colors are the original ones.
Can anyone help me finding where it came from? I understand that it might be impossible. However it would be fantastic. This is the only Canadian (?) dingy that made it all the way to Italy and is still in a perfet condition! It is almost a museum piece.
